Paladins launched into open beta in 2016 and 1.0 in 2018. Hi-Rez's hero shooter pairs the standard 5v5 objective format with a card-based loadout system that lets players modify ability behavior between matches. The Paladins Premier League ran for several seasons with prize pools that supported a real pro circuit. The competitive scene has cooled but the live game continues to operate with regular updates.
