Deadlock is Valve experimenting in public. The 6v6 lane meta borrows openly from MOBAs, the gunplay borrows from third-person shooters, and the result is a hybrid that does not have a clean genre comparison. The beta state means the meta is in active flux and the audience that is grinding the game now will define the shape of competitive Deadlock when it formalizes.
