Path of Exile launched in 2013 and has run a unique seasonal-league format ever since, where each three-to-four month league wipes the economy and introduces new mechanics. The PvP layer is secondary to the PvE optimization layer, but the race events (most notably the Mayhem and Endless Ledge formats, plus historical PvP tournaments) have produced some of the most watched competitive ARPG content. Path of Exile 2 is in early access as a parallel product line.
